Services

Four services, one shared first step

Whichever service fits, the first meeting is always an assessment, then therapy shaped around what we find. Explore the four below.

Myofunctional therapy

Ages 5 and up

Our specialty. Retraining the muscles of the mouth, face and tongue that quietly shape how you breathe, sleep, swallow and speak, for children, teens and adults.

What it is

Myofunctional therapy retrains the muscles of the mouth and face, to teach accurate resting posture (of your tongue, jaw, lips and teeth), chewing and swallowing. These quiet patterns shape facial development, sleep, dental alignment, jaw comfort, speech and feeding at every age, and are often the missing piece when something hasn't fully resolved.

Your first visit

The first meeting is always an assessment, a chance to understand the full picture before anything else. If appropriate, therapy then follows, shaped around what we find.

Then therapy

Therapy is individualized based on the specific findings of our assessment. Therapy consists of a combination of daily exercises that aim to improve the following; nasal breathing, resting tongue posture, chewing and swallowing, and speech/articulation. Our goal is also to eliminate open mouth posture, tongue thrust and oral habits (e.g. thumb sucking). Treatment is often coordinated with your dentist, orthodontist, ENT or other specialists to ensure the best outcomes.

What it is

For younger children (ages 1-5), we support the developing muscles of the mouth and face in an age appropriate manner. We work with the facial and oral muscles to guide accurate resting posture (of your tongue, jaw, lips and teeth), chewing and swallowing. Addressing mouth breathing, drooling, appropriate feeding skills and more.

Speech therapy

All ages
